Cindy found happiness in life’s simple pleasures. She had a deep love for flowers, fireworks, and long walks in the park with her grandchildren. She delighted in her cherished collection of miniature watering cans, hats, and baskets, each one reflecting her appreciation for beauty, gardening, and thoughtful details. Above all, Cindy treasured time spent with her family, who were the center of her world. Her kindness, dedication, and quiet joy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was passionate about the environment and conservation. She was a committed Polk Soil and Water Conservation District commissioner since 2012, and was instrumental in significant projects in Polk County during her tenure. Prior to becoming a commissioner, she retired as a librarian for the Iowa Department for the Blind and Physically Handicapped, in which she had devotedly served for 26 years.
Flowers and memorial gifts are welcome, and the family will be donating to charitable institutions closest to Cindy’s heart.
